Our Start


As a young paramedic, Richard Tibbetts noticed that collecting reimbursements for services his company provided wasn’t always guaranteed. This resulted in a lack of funding that contributed to critical failures in response time and an inability to update outdated and unsafe equipment. He eventually became the owner of his own ambulance service and began fine-tuning the process of billing and collections to help his company provide excellent care and reliable service.

In 1988, Richard decided to share the knowledge he gained as an ambulance service owner with other EMS providers by establishing EMS Consultants. The company offered consulting services focused on increasing reimbursement for EMS services rendered and improving operational efficiency.

Shortly after launch, the company released EMS Billing Software, one of the first ambulance billing software applications in the nation.

2010

Our Growth


Within a few short years, EMS Consultants was providing EMS Billing Software to clients across 12 states. As the industry evolved and Medicare focused on strengthening and improving its benefits, the company decided to diversify its offers and introduced an outsourced billing service in 2004. By utilizing its own billing software platform and offering clients free electronic field reporting software during the term of the contract, EMS Consultants quickly became a leading managed billing service provider for EMS operators.

New clients led to new demands, and the company continued to advance its technology to keep pace with the market. In 2010, EMS Consultants began launching its Prestige software product line which came to include ePCR, Billing, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), and Business Intelligence solutions.

2020

Our Future


By late 2019, EMS Consultants had established itself as one of the nation’s leading companies providing EMS software, ambulance medical billing services, and reimbursement consulting services. In early 2020, EMS Consultants received a strategic equity investment from a team of seasoned private equity professionals. Roby Sanchez, a FinTech veteran with 20+ years of experience developing and improving customer experiences, was appointed CEO.

Today, under new leadership, the company is increasing investment in its market-leading software, accelerating key go-to-market initiatives, and further enhancing its highly-regarded customer experience. To reflect its commitment to elevating the quality of healthcare delivered in local communities, the company recently rebranded as Elevos.
